Laura Bricker

I believe that art appeals to most people at
some level and at some point in time. My
interest was initially as an appreciator of what other artists were able to put
on canvas. This interest grew into
to a desire to see if I could translate what I saw, sensed and felt.
Dancing in and out of art, it
seems I have always been on the edge, from my youthful art creations to my
concentration in the field of “creativity” at the master’s degree level.
I first painted because I wanted “original art” on my walls and the
only way we could afford that was to “do it myself”!!
I painted on and off for many years and loved the thrill of color and
light. To my great pleasure, when I moved to
Beaufort this interest soon became a passion fueled the glory of this
surrounding landscape and the light that is emanated on objects.
I believe that when interest becomes fueled by passion, techniques and
artistic decisions more fully represent what the artist feels, senses and sees.
Each time I finish a new painting, I hope that I have come closer and
closer to conveying what initially captured my interest and my heart.
I do hope my work touches your soul also!
